About the event

The Hayti Historical Society presents our documentary Passtown School:Past Present and Future on Tuesday May 10, at 7:30 pm on Philadelphia PBS Station WHYY Channel 12. This documentary chronicles the Passtown Elementary School in Hayti, Pennsylvania. It is the only remaining school building from the era of segregation that is still standing in the Coatesville area and beyond.  The building embodies the history of segregation, the history of the Hayti Community, and the history of a segregated way of life in a northern state in America.  All other physical vestiges of segregation in this area are gone. Watch as you learn the history of the school and the efforts to save the building and have it listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
